Property Division
Property division occurs between two married spouses on the breakdown of a relationship. The process typically involves calculating each spouses net worth and sharing the difference between the parties – this is how property is “equalized”. However, not all assets are treated the same and you should know your rights before taking any steps, including moving out of your home.
If you and your spouse are not legally married, you may still have a claim related to property.
I would be happy to discuss your rights and best course of action during a consultation.
